A plaque outside the GYMNASIUM of the pre-1947 Kirpa Ram Anglo-Sanskrit High School (commonly known as the Arya High school). The Ggymnasium is now a part of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School. The plaque reads: MAYA DEVI GYMNASIUM, DONATED BY, BABOO RALLA RAM CHOPRA. FOUNDATION STONE LAID BY SH. MOHD ZAHUR UO DIN. B.A., L.??, INSPECTOR OF SCHOOLS, RAWALPINDI DIVISION, ON 2 - 7 - 1939: "THE STRENGTH OF THE YOUNG IS THE STRENGTH OF THE NATION" . Lala Ralla Ram Chopra, Bhatyan wale (Owner of Brick kilns ) moved to Calcutta during the Second World War where he prospered as a contractor. He rebuilt his ancestral house into a mansion in the Kaccha Verhra not far from Jeetu da Maidan.
